Fine wines from the pristine King Valley, north east Victoria. Family owned. Hand made.

The word ‘Novella’ is defined as ‘a piece of literature that is shorter than a novel but longer than a short story’. We prefer though to measure it in ‘wine time’ - probably about as long as it takes to share a bottle of wine with someone special...

PINOT GRIS

Pinot Gris made more interesting.

We love Pinot Gris: light, fresh, clean. But sometimes it may be a little one dimensional which why we leave this wine on skins for a few days, giving a magnificent bronze hue and an extra dimension on the palate. This wine shows tons of character - it’s apricot-ey and pithy on the nose; the palate is lively, dry and refreshing with nashi pear, ruby grapefruit and almond skin flavours.

Drinks beautifully alongside Thai food - particularly a mild green curry or sweet/spicy noodle dishes like Pad Thai.

PINOT NOIR ROSE

A bone dry Rose that begs for another hour of early evening

A blend of two pinot noir clones, the grapes for this luxurious rose were handpicked, lightly pressed and barrel fermented. Barrel ferment and the subsequent ageing gives texture and character to rose, lending a certain creaminess and softness.

The nose is all strawberries and cream while the palate shines through with peach skin, macadamia and red fruits. It’s lip-smackingingly dry but feels balanced with the fruit weight. Perfect for snacks on the patio at dusk.

FEATHERWEIGHT RED

A flirtatious, quirky light red

Much like ‘Novella’ sits between a short novel and a long story, this Featherweight Red defies normal wine-style convention, sitting somewhere between a rose and a light red. It’s a nifty blend of pinot meunier, pinot noir and pinot gris and it’s a little quirky, a little flamboyant but a lot delicious.

Crunchy red fruits, pinot gris pithy-ness, tomato bush and bright spice all get a mention here. Chill down to maximise the savory notes, or drink at cellar temperature (15 degrees-ish) to see more of the cranberry/raspberry pinot noir type flavours.

Unfined and unfiltered.

PINOT NOIR

Ethereal and modern pinot noir

There’s so much to like about this wine….aromatic, juicy, light…it’s unabashedly charming and just a little seductive.

It’s all about the black cherry flavours - think ‘dark chocolate cherry-ripe that you accidently drop into a glass of pinot’ kind of vibe. All of which is framed with lovely natural acidity and fine, juicy tannin. A delicate but beautifully textured wine with plush, persistent length.

Unfined and unfiltered
